Privacy Policy — Fable AI

1. Overview

Fable AI is a creative assistant for chat, image generation, and document analysis. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and when it is shared with third parties — including AI providers.

2. Data stored on your device

Chats, generated images, collections, and app preferences are stored locally on your iPhone using Apple SwiftData. We do not operate a user account system and do not sync your content to our own cloud servers.

3. Data sent to third-party AI services

When you use AI features (chat, image generation or editing, document or photo analysis, web browsing mode, or voice transcription for messages), the content you submit may be transmitted to third-party AI providers to generate a response.

Providers used (via OpenRouter):

Google (Gemini)
DeepSeek
OpenAI (ChatGPT)
Anthropic (Claude)
OpenRouter — secure routing proxy to the providers and models below

AI models that may process your data:

1. Claude AI
2. Gemini AI
3. DeepSeek
4. Chat GPT

Rolling fallback: If the primary model fails (error or timeout), Fable AI automatically tries backup models in order: DeepSeek V4 Pro → GPT-5.4 Mini → Claude Opus 4.6 Fast. For image generation/editing, file analysis, and document generation, the backup model is GPT-5.4. Your content may be sent to a backup provider only to complete the feature you initiated.

Types of data that may be sent:

Text you type or speak (converted to text)
Photos and images you attach
Text extracted from documents (PDF, CSV, etc.)
Conversation context needed to continue a chat

Purpose: To generate AI responses, images, summaries, and analysis you request.

We do not sell your personal data. Data is shared only to provide the AI features you initiate.

4. Your consent

Before any data is sent to a third-party AI provider, Fable AI asks for your explicit permission. You can revoke this permission anytime in Settings → Review AI Data Sharing.

5. Subscriptions

Pro subscriptions are processed by Apple. We do not receive your payment card details. Apple provides us subscription status to unlock Pro features.

6. Permissions

Microphone & Speech — voice input (optional)
Photos — attach images and save generated images (optional)
Camera — capture photos for analysis (optional)

7. Data retention & deletion

Use “Clear All Data” in Settings to permanently delete local chats, gallery images, and collections. Revoking AI consent stops future sharing with AI providers but does not delete data already sent to providers under their policies.

8. Children

Fable AI is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
